Welcome!

My name is Hillary and I have a passion for cooking, creating, and testing out different flavors and ideas. I always wanted to be able to share my trials and experiences with other people and what better way to do this than with a blog! I want to help you get ideas for easy every day meals and follow my journey through the cooking world.

My family gets together often and we always have good food to eat. My inspiration for savory is my mom, granny, and many aunts. Always something new or different to try and always the same classics that you enjoy every time they show up!

My inspiration for my sweet comes from my grandma who always started baking for the holidays months in advance and enjoyed what she did. I still try to recreate some of the things she did and put my own spin on them as well.

For the month of September I have made 20 frozen slow cooker meals that can be made ahead of time and cooked while you are at work. I have prepared these meals already and it took me about 5 hours to prepare and organize for the entire month. I only made 20 meals because I do not cook on Sundays and we eat out about once a week whether it be fast food, a family function, or a sit down meal. If you follow suit this will last you for the month. I no longer have an excuse that I'm too tired to cook when I get home because it is already done! The only thing that needs to be done outside of the slow cooker is rice and pasta which neither take too long to do. I do have an older slow cooker so for this I have had to purchase a timer to plug it into. That way i'm sure it cuts on when I need it to and can cut off when I need it to. Hopefully this idea will allow me to save money, time, stress, and not to mention easy cleanup! All of these meals have been frozen in food saver bags and will be taken out of the freezer the night before to thaw before put into the slow cooker.

For September 1st I will be making Lemon Pepper Chicken! Stay tuned!
